Santiago is Chile

I've lived in Santiago most of my life. I was born here and I don't intend to live in another city... almost for a while. I lived two years in another city, especifically in Mar del Plata, Argentina. But that's another story, 'cause I'm here to talk about Santiago.

I lived in two diferents places in Santiago. First in Puente Alto, in the south of the city. Then, my family and I moved to the center of the city, near the Parque O'Higgins. Well, I love the both places, because they give me some invaluable memories.

I like Santiago because you have EVERYTHING here. Good stadiums for football and music, good food, you can buy everything here. The most important thing, for me, is that my friends and family live here, so I can always see them. The city have a decent weather. In winter, cold and rain are not so much, and that's ok for me. In the summer, the heat is strong, but I know that in others cities the heat is terrible.

One of the things I don't like of Santiago is the extremely long distance between some places. You can wait more than 1 hour to take to some places. Especially when all the people went out their works. Many streets are full of cars and busses. This take us to another problem of Santiago: the over population. There are too many people in this city, and the city isn't prepared for this.

To make Santiago a better place to live I think that they should ban some cars. This would help to clear the streets of the city. Also, they have to implement a better public transport system.

Leaving the bad things, Santiago have too many places to visit. You have the Parque O'Higgins, a very popular place here. In April we have Lollapalooza Chile en this park. In September we have the "fondas", where we celebrate our national day. We have the Cerro San Cristobal, a place where you can see all the city.

If you can go to drink something in the night, we have a lot of places. There is Bellavista, Lastarria, Providencia and some discotheques around the city. Santiago is a nice place to live. You have everything. Some people says that Santiago is Chile. I think they're right...

This song represent Santiago. Enjoy!

The best game in the world

The videogames are one of my addiction. Some people likes drugs or alcohol. I like the videogames. My favorite game is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. This game was released in 2003 for the Nintendo Game Cube. Since 1999 Nintendo hadn't released a game of Zelda and the fans were so excited when Wind Waker was announced
I lived in Argentina when Wind Waker was released, so I called my father who was in Chile and asked for the game. He sent it to me and I was very happy. Immediately I put de disc on mi Game Cube and started the game. The intro was beautiful. I almost cried. Then, I played Wind Waker all the day.
Basically, the Legend of Zelda is always the same. It’s an adventure game. In it you are Link, the hero of the history. You have to rescue the Princess Zelda from the evil hands of Ganon. Each game has a unique history, but the purpose is the same. In Wind Waker everything is located in the Big Sea. In it are many islands that Link have to visit to rescue the Princess Zelda.
This game was wonderful. The experts gave very good scores to Wind Waker. The graphics are so beautiful. This was the first game that used de cel shading technology. This make the game looks like a cartoon.
When I finished the game I stand up and applauded. The final was fantastic. I don’t want to spoil you, so I don’t make any comment of the final. The only thing I have to say is that the game is amazing. According to the experts, another Zelda’s game is the best, but for me, Wind Waker is the best in history.

This photograph was taken this year. In it, you can see my friend Kota and I. We were in the Juan Gomez Millas campus, near the football field known as “Calama”. That day was Holy Thursday and everyone was there drinking. My friends and I decided to take some photos with the cell phone of another friend, Nicole. It takes very good photos. In that session were many funny pictures. Nicole said us to put a tender face and suddenly, took the photo.

I picked this photo, because is so cute. Our faces are like babies, specially the face of Kota. She always has a baby face. The colors of the photo are very nice. I was wearing a yellow vest with a multi color lion in the chest. Reggae stuff. And Kota had a vest with a lot of colors. And her hair helps a lot too. It was pink! So beautiful.

I used this photo as my photo in Facebook for a long time. My friend put it too. The people confused us in the post of Facebook. It was very funny. I think this photo represents the friendship in a nostalgic way. The sepia gives the photo an old sensation. Like if we were friends to many years ago. But we still are friends.

I hope you enjoy the photo like I enjoy it. I don’t have much to say. So I’m going to say good bye. Have a nice day.

The Best Colour

I had gone to a lot of concerts in my life. Many times saw the Chilean band Chancho en Piedra live. But all those times doesn’t compare with my favourite recital. It was en October, the last year. The band was American. The name: Living Colour. For many years I loved this band because they are the best musicians of the world, I think.

I bought my ticket 3 months before the show, because I was so excited. A week before the concert, I won 2 tickets in a web contest, so I decided to invite a friend. I wanted to sell the other but I couldn’t, so it’s like a token now.

The day of the show, me and my friend went to the Teatro Teletón, and when we get there, there was only a man. We started to talk with him and he was a very nice person. Several hours ago, the doors were opened and we came in to the theatre. The band that opened the show was a Chilean band called Los Morton. They were so heavy and powerful. A very good band. After that, Living Colour came in to the stage. Every song that they play was wonderful. Vernon Reid, the guitarist, was a beast. Their solos were amazing and very fast. The drummer and the bassist were the same person, because they were connected. And Corey Glover, the singer, is from another planet. They blew my mind.

It’s my favourite show, because they are amazing musicians and I waited for they for a long time, and when I saw that they will come, I almost died.

Two "Lola"

My favorite teacher isn't a single person. There are two teachers, but they are as one. The name of both is Jorge Abarca. But, how can be this possible? They are father and son. The nickname of the father is Lola, because one of his characteristic phrases was "Lo lamento". He said that when you had a red mark or something like that. As a consequence, his son was named Lola too.
First, the father Lola teach me History, and I really love the class. He was so funny and a very good teacher. Everybody understands what he was saying. Suddenly, he left the school for different reasons and his son came as a substitute. Fortunately, he stayed for two years. His classes were like the class of his father, so it was the same. There had only a difference: Lola JR. was very young and he was like a friend for me. We told our problems to the other, trying to give a solution or a simple consolation. So that was a plus.
Both teacher very important to me, and I write about they, because they’re a single person for me.

iPod Touch (L)

Two weeks ago was my birthday. Two weeks ago I received my baby. For a long time I was in love with it, and finally I have it. The iPod Touch 8gb put a sunshine in my life. With it, I can listen to music, go into the internet, but only with a Wi-Fi connection. And it have a lot of downloadable applications. Games, music tools, news papers, Facebook, Twitter and a lot of useless things.

Since I have it, I can’t' stop using it, especially listen to music. Each song has the cover of the respective album, and it looks beautiful. It takes me a lot of time to put the image in the iPod, but t worth it. A negative point is the memory, because it’s not enough for all the music I have and I have to leave some bands out. The second thing that I most use is the Facebook and Twitter application. I can twett in every place and I really love it.

The iPod Touch is like the iPhone, but it can’t make a call and don’t have a camera. I don’t really care about that ‘cause I’m in love with the Touch. I can’t remember the time before the iPod. My life should have been so boring without the iPod.

Inmortals

My favorite band is inmortal. The Red Hot Chili Pepper's guitarrist, John Frusciante, left the band the last year, but they still there, doing great music for the people. Red Hot Chili Peppers had got a lot of members along their history: 10 guitarrist and 3 drummer. Some of them had died, others had left the band for "musical aspects". There's only two original members in the band. Anthony Kiedis, the lead vocals and the spectacular bassist, Michael "Flea" Balzary.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers made his first appearence in 1983 in a little bar of Los Angeles California under the name of Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Master of Mayhem. In the same year, they recorded his first album named Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In 1988 the original guitarrist, Hillel Slovak, died in an hotel room by a his heroin addiction. After a few guitarrist, John Frusciante joined the Chili Peppers. In 1991 they recorded the album that launched band to the fame. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is considered one of the best albums in the rock's history. Songs like Give it Away or Under the Bridge was in that record.

In 1992 Frusciante left the band for first time, and the guitarrist of Jane's Addiction, Dave Navarro, replace him. Navarro only recorded the experimental One Hot Minute in 1995. After that, John returned to the band.

The following records were Californication (1999), By the Way (2002) and Stadium Arcadium (2006). That was the golden age of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Today, they are working in a new album with their new guitarrist Josh Klinghoffer. All the fans are waiting the end of the 2010. The new record will be released there.

There's a live performance of their classic song "Around the World"
